Yes the wait is over.. for some. SW-TOR has today opened its space-highways to early access fanatics. Those that beta-tested, those that have been patient now get to dip their sabre permanently in the dark/light goo of Lucas Arts highly anticipated new MMO.
Time will be divided between WOW and SWTOR for many but i foresee the majority switching sides from Blizzard to Bioware as the there is a general feeling that WOWs 4.3 patch is a little .. easy going.
At a development cost rumored to be over $135 million, The Old Republic may be the most expensive video game ever created. All I care about is the colour of my lightsabre.

The fire lord put up a robust defense.. it did take us quite a lot weeks to get to this point but at last he was returned to his fiery depths and the firelands was completed in full for the first time. (although i missed it which sucks donkey balls). Now we just need to repeat and get him down consistently which Im sure will come more easily now.

And theres that questline for the legendary staff.. Our shaman Totemistic has retreated to the hotel room toilet in full preparation and our team readies itself to face Volcanus....... Jabe is the next in line collecting the Eternal Embers and already has a few up his robes. Of course he better hope it goes smoothly first time around else we may all be washing our hair that night when its his turn.

And so it has been announced we will all be kung fu fighting next expansion.. Mists of Pandaria with cute fluffly pandas. New Class introduced - the Monk and level cap raised to 90. A whole new talent system to try and re-introduce customisation (who are they kidding - there will always be cries of noob if you didnt take the mandatory "press dis - does moar dps skill".) .. or will we have sunk off to SW or Diablo III or will the hardcore remain... its all coming soon !

2 Weeks into raiding the Firelands and good progress has been made ... the first 5 bosses down which isnt too shabby if we say so ourselves - put in context, its about 8-9hrs raiding per week in a relaxed casual atmosphere. We even had time last night for a few pops at Majordomo and reckon we can have him next week, now we have at least tasted what he has to offer.
A few more of the old team are back .. and the numbers grow. Its looking like it will be a good run up to Christmas.

Never down and out for long, Badacid has made a resurrection on alliance Silvermoon. Should any of the BB Badacid folk wish to relocate / revive their old toons we more than welcome you to the new server (which is very very busy) We are also looking to recruit Silvermooners to get the guild vibe going, tackle some raiding and to generally revive the badacid community. Most likely we will keep it 10 man but only time will tell. Vince and family are the primary shareholders - he can almost field a raid team from sons and co. So contact Connor (Gashndslash) or Vince (Retsulk) or Jason (Zadkiel) or me James (Carped/Aquaris) in game if you want to join up. We have already taken in our quota of charity cases in brothers Will and Rob so those tickets are no longer available.Hope to see you in game and under the BA banner once more.Feel the flow !

It might seem we have been quiet and while the WOW lot have ceased the grind and the FPS lot are not regularly putting bullets through opponents heads the Badacid culture remains very much alive!
Epic 6 Lan Thursday 28th - Sunday 31st July 2011 kicking off soon a host of regulars will be making the trip down for laughs and giggles with Red, Coldie, Barney and BMCrew - with possible flying visits from Gerbil and Myhv and the elusive Goldie.
Sunday 31 July sees me meet up with Adrian and Jabe and Midsy (Dave and Laura - WOW players), Wraith and Pete (wow too) for a curry in Luton. Ade and I then fly off to Serbia for a week to experience third world Europe with some old WOW friends. May the gods have mercy on our livers.

Whats the next big thing .. well the FPSers are looking at BF3 and its imminent release ..will it reunite them competitively - lets hope so. The MMOers are looking ahead to SWTOR and its unconfirmed 2011 release date and Im sure that will pull a few of us together again.

Hope to see you taking part in one field or the other.

Magmaw, giant worm boss in BWD died tonight for the first time for us, and we got the achievement Parasite Evening in the process. A very nice execution and we now have that fight well worked. The tank trinket and some cloth leggings got distributed for some nice upgrades. Spent some time on Omnitron Defence afterwards to get a feel for that and it looks very doable. Well done folks. [I should turn on my nameplate for these screenies]
